Mmmm...

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of Mia "helping" me make brownies tonight. As you can see, she was a big help; eating as much as possible before I could get them into the oven. And yes, I know that there are raw eggs in there!! My mom reminds me all the time (although she was always more than willing to let us lick the bowl when we were young...hmmm). But seriously, who can pass up licking the brownie batter?? It is so yummy. I even caught Erik taking some!!

Yes, we're still alive...

Since I haven't posted anything since Christmas, I thought a little update was only necessary. We've been pretty busy around here lately. We've moved into a new house, finally rented the old one, and are patiently awaiting the arrival of the "baby sister." She has yet to be named, so that's what we refer to her as. Mia talks about her all the time, but I am sure that she doesn't quite understand that there will be another human in the house soon. My due date is July 9th and as of right now, nothing is happening so my guess is that she'll be late just like Mia was. I'll try to keep you posted (although we all know how good I am at that!!)

Mia recently turned 2 and is such a big girl now. She talks up a storm, sings, dances, and even thinks that she is the boss most of the time. The other day she very sternly, with a wrinkled brow, told me, "Mommy, don't tell me no!" and proceeded to hit me with a screw driver. Of course, Erik and I laughed pretty hard. She is so darn cute that you can't help but laugh at her when she's being naughty. She'll even tell you, "I'm sassy," and she is so right!! We love her to pieces!! Now that I am off school and my mom is in town, we have been trying to stay cool (which how you do when your 9 months pregnant in the Florida heat is beyond me!!) by going to the pool and the beach. Mia absolutely loves them both. The Florida sunshine definitely suits her.

Here are some recent pictures of Mia. I'll try my hardest to post more often and especially when the baby arrives.

A recent trip to the Tampa Zoo. Mia loved the goats and the carousel.

Mia trying out her baby sister's exersaucer. She is adamant that the baby's things that are appearing around the house are really for her. She could spend a half hour in this thing!!

She loves fruit, especially the messy kinds!

Happy 2nd Birthday!! We celebrated with family on the day of her actual birthday and then had friends over on the Saturday that followed. She loved her birthday hat, otherwise known as the "ta-ra-ra-boom-day" hat (a song from Barney, yes that's right, I said Barney - there's something about that big goofy dinosaur that she LOVES!!)

Although she is a little too small for it, she got a princess bike from her Gram and a princess helmet from her cousin Alex. She's a big fan of the princesses too these days. Hmmm, wonder why? Could it be that she believes she is one??
